The ability to self-regulate has been identified as the most important trait for thriving in adolescence. Meditation is a behavior that can help promote the development of self-regulation for youth. This webinar will briefly review emerging research linking meditation and adolescent self-regulation, and will equip health educators with the knowledge and skills needed to help young people begin their own meditation practice.


Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to describe the role of self-regulation in promoting adolescent health and development.
  • Participants will be able to describe research findings that demonstrate the ability of meditation to promote self-regulation for adolescents.
  • Participants will be able to examine practical strategies for helping adolescents learn to meditate.
  • Participants will be able to create a meditation experience that could be used in either a health or physical education setting.
