Implementation of an Elementary Physical Education Field Experience

Pre-service teachers benefit from field experiences teaching real classes. This presentation is for professors, pre-service teachers, and cooperating teachers hosting a student who want to experience a rich, realistic and positive experience. We will examine the learning experience of pre-service teachers through a qualitative lens with observations, anecdotal evidence and discussion/reflection.
- Identify the benefits and hindrances of implementing a field experience.
- Summarize the trends that emerge from field experiences.
- Exam issues of management and instruction.
- Outline the exchange between professor/teacher and students in a methods course as they engage in a realistic learning experience.
