Cardio-Focused Physical Activity Ideas

You’ll love this month’s heart-focused physical activity and "Ten at a Time" calendars and activity ideas! Our Jump Rope For Heart and Hoops For Heart grantees teamed up with the programs' wildly popular Monster friends to develop heart-themed activities. Each activity:

  • Matches up with the Scare Squad's heart-healthy signature messages; helping to reinforce good nutrition and physical activity habits;
  • Aligns with the national standards for health and physical education; and
  • Can be incorporated during physical education class or in a school-wide assembly.

Active Recess for All!

Recess helps students achieve the nationally recommended 60 minutes of physical activity per day and has numerous benefits that can enhance students' health and learning. SHAPE America and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) newly released recess guidance documents will help your school assess their current recess program and improve it so all students are moving!
