The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) identifies school health and physical education as part of a student’s “well-rounded education.”
Under ESSA, Title IV, Part A, schools will receive increased access to funds for health and PE programs; however, several proposals in Congress would significantly underfund Title IV, Part A and put health and physical education at risk.
