SHAPE America Announces 2024 ‘Send a Teacher’ Grant Recipients

ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, MD, April 2, 2024 — SHAPE America – Society of Health and Physical Educators announces its 2024 “Send a Teacher” grant recipients. These four educators, selected from more than 130 applicants nationwide, received a full complimentary registration to the 2024 SHAPE America National Convention & Expo, which was held in Cleveland, March 12-16.

The following educators have been named 2024 “Send a Teacher” Grant recipients:

  • Daryl Farley, Centennial Academy Charter School, Atlanta, GA
  • Adam Lambert, Waring School, Philadelphia, PA
  • Leanna Lawson, Wartburg Central Elementary School, Rockwood, TN
  • Emilee Pike, Surline Middle School, St. Helen, MI

Grant recipients were selected by blind review after a committee scored all applicants based on transparency, credibility, accountability, and how they would leverage their experience at #SHAPECleveland to best serve their students, districts and communities.

“We are so excited to once again offer the “Send a Teacher” initiative as it allows these educators to learn from the nation’s leading health and physical education professionals and then take the newly released SHAPE America National Physical Education Standards and National Health Education Standards back to their school and community,” said SHAPE America CEO Stephanie Morris.
