About UnLock Research

Professor Lawrence F. Locke, a leader in U.S. sport pedagogy, developed the UnLock Research website as a way to help teachers and scholars become better informed about the many good things going on in sport pedagogy. He also wanted to connect them with the various aspects of doing, reading, understanding, and interpreting research. Now a professor emeritus of education and physical education at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Locke has graciously allowed us to continue the legacy of his UnLock Research materials.

We are revitalizing this concept in the form of monthly translated research articles to help you in your career. Many thanks to Ashley Phelps at the University of Texas at Austin for translating all of the articles for the 2018-2019 academic year.

From Theory Into Practice

The “Theory Into Practice” column can be found in each issue of Strategies: A Journal for Physical and Sport Educators. It summarizes topical research findings to help practitioners apply research, knowledge and evidence-based practices in physical education and sports.
