The SHAPE America Online Institute delivers self-paced, effective professional development for K-12 health and physical educators.   
With this all-new learning platform, you can:

  • Track your online professional development and contact hours in one place from the user-friendly dashboard.
We've compiled a list of common questions to help you get started. 
No. The SHAPE America Online Institute is available for everyone to access, but SHAPE America members enjoy additional discounts and services when they log in using their member username and password. Nonmembers simply need to create a free account to access the online learning platform.
You must be logged in to the online institute in order to browse the course catalog. Log in using your SHAPE America member username and password or create a free nonmember account.
All items that are free to all or included with membership will have a button that says “launch” under the title. Simply click “launch” to gain access. After the first launch, this item will be accessible in the “My Transcript” tab of your Dashboard in the Online Institute.
Once you are logged in, navigate to the item you want to purchase in the course catalog. Click the "buy now" button to initiate your purchase.
Simply log in to access your items at any time. All launched and/or purchased items are available in the “My Transcript” tab of your Dashboard.
SHAPE America contact hour(s) (SACH) are available through the Online Institute. The Online Institute provides a comprehensive transcript of all completed items, which is also available in PDF format. When you have completed a course or passed an exam, your certificates will show up under the item in the “Grades” tab of “My Transcript.” Locate the appropriate item, then click “Certificate” to access your certificate. Please note that you will need to check with your district and/or licensing agency to see if SHAPE America contact hours will count towards your professional development and/or licensure requirements.
SHAPE America offers several membership levels. SHAPE America Select and Premier members enjoy the greatest discounts on the SHAPE America Online Institute. Join online now.
You can upgrade from a Basic Online membership to a Select membership at any time, even if your renewal date is months away. For a limited time, we are offering Basic Online members the opportunity to add a year of Select Professional membership to their account and receive Select Professional membership benefits for the remainder of their Basic Online membership term.

For example, let’s say your Basic Online membership ends in six months. If you “Add a Year of Select Membership,” your membership will continue for 18 months and you receive Select membership benefits– including 30% off courses in the Online Institute – the entire time!

To take advantage of this upgrade opportunity, call our Member Services Department at 800-213-7193. Not interested in adding a year? We can also prorate the switch to a Select membership for the rest of your current membership term. It’s your choice.
