Daily recess contributes to the recommended 60 minutes of daily physical activity and helps put all children on the path to health and physical literacy. During recess, students choose the physical activities they want to engage in and have the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills learned in an effective health and physical education program.

Using resources developed by CDC and SHAPE America, this webinar will help you learn how to incorporate, implement and evaluate recess as part of a comprehensive school physical activity program (CSPAP).

Presenters: Carly Wright, Senior Manager of Advocacy, SHAPE America
Karen Johnson, Advocacy Consultant, SHAPE America

We’ll debunk myths and dispel common misconceptions about opportunities for health and physical education under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Learn how you can access funding and influence how your state and school district addresses health and physical education under this new law. Hear the latest updates on implementation of ESSA as we head into the new school year and how you can ensure that your voice is heard in the process!
